If you are tired of the monotony of saving all of your accounting journals to file or the paper waste involved in printing them to paper, you might want to take a look at the “Journals” tab under “Options” in your Sage 300 CRE tools menu.
If you are using at least version 12 of the software, you now have the ability to automatically save and organize your accounting journals to your specifications. Under Tools, Options and Journals, just check the box for “Automatically print journal to file” and choose how you want to organize them.
For example, you may want to store your journals for later access in folders by Program (AP, GL, PM, JC, PR) User and Year, then name the journal files by the task and date they were completed. All of these options and more are available in 2 drop down lists for customizing how you want to store your accounting journals. It is easy to setup and easy to use. Hopefully this helps you easily find the journals you are looking for and cut down on the paper waste in your office!
