PM Delinquent Leases Inquiry to Excel
If you are using Sage 300 CRE (formerly Timberline Software) for your business, you are probably familiar with the Information Assistant program (IA). If your job requirements do not require you to enter data, and you are looking for drill down functionality in a spreadsheet format, Information Assistant does the trick. What you may not know is that it can also export your information to Excel with, literally, the press of a button.
For example, let’s say you are in the middle of researching entries posted to one of your most active GL accounts. You have used the conditions in inquiry to narrow down about 500 transactions with a specific date, batch and program of origin. Now, you want to see these entries in Excel. Click on the “Export to Excel” button and you have your entries in Excel in an “easy to read” columnar format. You can use the export to Excel button throughout all of your inquiries. Export your Property Management receivable information using the Delinquent Leases inquiry, check registers from your AP inquiries and more all using the export to Excel button. .
If you are tired of the monotony of saving all of your accounting journals to file or the paper waste involved in printing them to paper, you might want to take a look at the “Journals” tab under “Options” in your Sage 300 CRE tools menu.
If you are using at least version 12 of the software, you now have the ability to automatically save and organize your accounting journals to your specifications. Under Tools, Options and Journals, just check the box for “Automatically print journal to file” and choose how you want to organize them.
For example, you may want to store your journals for later access in folders by Program (AP, GL, PM, JC, PR) User and Year, then name the journal files by the task and date they were completed. All of these options and more are available in 2 drop down lists for customizing how you want to store your accounting journals. It is easy to setup and easy to use. Hopefully this helps you easily find the journals you are looking for and cut down on the paper waste in your office!
